Each year, the Society for the Promotion of Economic Research (Friends of the ifo Institute) e.V. presents this award for outstanding academic achievements in the field of empirical economic research. It goes to all young researchers who succeed in publishing an article in one of the most prestigious peer-reviewed journals. The ifo Institute’s Scientific Advisory Board supported the development of this award, and the Society supports the ifo Outstanding Publication Award with both ideas and finance.
