Industries in Focus: Furniture Industry

Like almost all manufacturing industries, furniture manufacturers are also suffering from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The significant slump in demand hit the industry hard, especially in March and April. By contrast, participants in the ifo Business Survey expect to see a recovery in the second half of 2020 – although this is unlikely to be sufficient to offset the downturn seen in the first half of the year.
