Retailing: Excellent current business situation

The business climate indicator for the retailing rose for the second time in succession in March, reaching its highest level since May 2018. The already high confidence has improved considerably in view of the positive sales trend, so that the current situation indicator now shows its best value since December 2010. In addition, survey participants were noticeably less pessimistic about the future course of business. Selling prices were raised more frequently than in the previous month. Order plans, on the other hand, remain restrictive, albeit to a lesser extent than in previous months.
