Retailing: Business Climate Improves

The business climate indicator for retailing rose again in November after last month’s decline. Assessments of the current business situation remained positive and almost unchanged from last month. In view of favourable sales developments compared to last year, retailers assessed their business prospects less sceptically. Against a backdrop of slightly higher inventories, the retailers surveyed stayed with their restrictive order policy. They were, however, optimistic about future pricing opportunities.
