Retailing: Business Expectations Marginally More Sceptical

After cooling down slightly in February, the business climate in retailing improved this month. Although turnover fell compared to last month, assessments of the current business situation were more positive. Scepticism regarding future business developments, however, increased slightly. Fewer retailers reported plans to increase sales prices, and they also reported sticking to their restrictive ordering policy and plan to downsize their staff base.
