Overview of ifo Business Surveys for July 2017: Germany’s Economy is Powering Ahead

The ifo Business Climate Index hit a new record in July for the third month in succession. Companies’ satisfaction with their current business situation reached its highest level since Germany’s reunification. Their short-term business outlook also improved. Companies' willingness to recruit also reached its highest level ever. In July the Employment Barometer rose to its highest level since the launch of the survey in 2002. Germany’s strong economy constantly needs more workers.
