Ifo World Economic Climate Brightens Further – Results of the 135th World Economic Survey (WES) for the First Quarter of 2017

The Ifo World Economic Climate has continued to improve. The experts did not assess the current situation as unfavourably as before, and economic expectations also brightened somewhat. This points to a moderate recovery in the global economy. The Ifo World Economic Climate improved especially in the developed economies, but was unfavourable for emerging and developing countries. According to the experts, short and long-term interest rates will rise in the next six months. In the US, all respondents expect an increase in short-term interest rates. The value of the US dollar should continue to increase during the next six months.
