Wholesaling: Expectations Turn More Positive

The business climate for wholesaling improved in September. Both sub-components recovered, whereby business expectations in particular were more positive than in August. Wholesalers reported considerably higher turnover versus the same month in the previous year. Pressure due to high inventories eased and last month’s restrictive ordering policy led to a positive balance figure in order expectations this month. The slide in sales prices could be halted on balance and wholesalers plan to implement price hikes.
