Retailing: Food Industry Dampens the Business Climate

The business climate indicator for retailing fell sharply in August, reaching a low for the year. This was mainly due to the pessimistic reports from food and beverages. The survey participants were significantly less satisfied with their current situation and are very sceptical regarding the business outlook. Nevertheless, intentions to raise prices were more frequent. The companies still plan to increase the number of employees moderately.
