Retailing: Developments in Turnover Are Good

The business climate indicator for retailing remained unchanged this month. The retailers surveyed were no longer quite as satisfied with their current business situation as in November. The targeted turnover considerably exceeded last month’s results, which in turn reduced scepticism with regard to future business developments. Prices continued to follow an upward trend. In view of higher inventories, retailers plan to scale back their ordering activity.
