Ifo Migration Monitor: Immigrants and Asylum-Seekers in Germany – Figures, Demographic Data, Qualification Structures and Labour Market participation

This article offers an overview of immigration flows and the number of asylum-seekers in Germany. It also presents demographic data, the qualification structure and labour market participation of foreigners, as well as the results of the refugee study conducted by the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. The labour market participation of refugees is far lower than that of the foreign population, which is, in turn, lower than that of the German population. The integration of refugees into the German labour market is a major challenge for the years ahead.
