Wholesaling: Positive Business Developments

The business climate indicator for wholesaling rose for the fourth successive time in January. This was mainly due to far better assessments of the current business situation. By contrast, survey participants expressed less confidence than last month in short-term developments. In view of slightly lower stock overhangs, ordering plans were, on balance, more expansively oriented. Wholesalers also plan to recruit more staff in the near future.
