Wholesaling: Excellent Business Situation in Food and Beverages Industry

The business climate indicator in wholesaling edged upwards in September and remains at a high level. Survey participants assessed their current business situation more favourably than in August. Optimism about future business developments, by contrast, waned somewhat. In view of slightly higher inventory overhangs, fewer wholesalers are planning to place more orders. A smaller number are planning to grow their staff base in the short term too.
