Retailing: Improved Business Expectations

The Business Climate Indicator for the retail sector increased significantly in May after a decline in the previous month. The companies assessed the current situation much more positively and see the future course of business far less sceptically. However, inventory pressure increased. Accordingly, the survey respondents increasingly plan to restrict order activity and will raise selling prices less frequently.
