Retailing: Excellent Business Situation

The Business Climate Indicator for the retail sector rose in August to its highest level since June 2011. The survey respondents described the current situation as excellent. Also, the scepticism with regard to the business outlook of the past months has turned into optimism. Sales were far above the level of the previous month. The number of reports of planned staff reductions was significantly lower than in the previous month.
