Growth in China is ailing. The OECD forecasts real GDP growth of 6.7% in 2016. Between 2002 and 2011 China was still targeting annual GDP growth of 10.6%. Ferdinand Dudenhöffer, University of Duisburg-Essen, expects a new growth paradigm to emerge for China in the future that no longer follows a linear trend. That is why only those automotive manufacturers who master the art of adjusting to economic cycles will be successful in China in the years to come.
