Retailing: Ordering Activity Remains Restrictive

The business climate indicator for retailing rose in November, but nevertheless remains negative. Positive and negative reports of the current business situation balanced each other out. Future business developments were also assessed as less unfavourable. Distributors, who frequently assessed their inventories as too high, stuck to their restrictive ordering policy. They plan to increase their prices and lower their staff numbers.
