Retailing: business situation significantly worse

The business climate indicator for retailing fell again in August, landing in negative territory for the first time since June 2013. The responses of the survey participants on the current situation were significantly less favourable. With regard to the future course of business, they are more sceptical than before. Sales prices will only be raised in isolated cases. However, the companies plan to increase the number of employees moderately.
