Many critics assume that protection from dismissal and unemployment benefits will be lowered and legal minimum wages will be reduced, or not even introduced in the first place, as a result of globalisation. A new study investigating the influence of globalisation on labour market institutions in 140 countries shows that there is no proof that globalisation has led to labour market deregulation.
