Cartographic representations mainly represent the world schematically. A relatively new form of maps are so called anamorphic maps, which present the details of a map depending on selected variables and therefore offer deformed presentations to a varying degree. This article describes the use of this type of map by taking the example of wind energy, which remains the world’s most strongly growing renewable energy segment, and using worldwide wind farms and installed capacity.
