Ifo Investment Survey of Wholesaling: Plans for Another Increase in Investment Volumes

German wholesalers are planning to increase their investment budget in 2012 versus 2011. These were the results of the Ifo Institute's annual Investment Survey of Wholesaling, which surveys participants' expectations in terms of trends in investment expenditure, turnover and employment figures for the forthcoming year. Wholesalers announced plans to increase their expenditure on both equipment and buildings, just as they have done for the past two years. With regard to revenues, the majority of wholesalers surveyed expect a higher turnover than last year. Moreover, they intend to expand their staff base.
