The goal of maintaining climate change at an acceptable level represents a global challenge and will become a long-term responsibility for present and future generations. At the moment it remains very uncertain whether it is still possible to limit global warming to 2°C higher than the pre-industrial age. In view of the moderate success of the last climate negotiations, adapting to climate change is becoming an increasingly important issue. This article offers a useful overview of the climate change adaptation strategies adopted by European countries.
