Climate notes: The curse of resources in Africa

Raw material prices are rising to new heights but ones hears little about economic prosperity in the raw material exporting countries, particularly in Africa. On the contrary, extreme poverty, high unemployment, violence, corruption and mismanagement prevail. This article discusses the question of the negative effects of resource wealth.
