Investment Survey in Distribution 2010: Clearly improved investment propensity

The entire world economy was affected considerably by the recent financial market crisis. Retailing in Germany also had to struggle with turnover losses but has recovered comparatively well. Wholesaling has also recovered perceptibly after strong sales declines in the previous year. For both areas of distribution, the Ifo Business climate indicator is again in positive territory. The scepticism regarding future business development has almost disappeared, and investment propensity has increased noticeably in comparison to the previous year. According to the results of the 2010 Ifo Investment Survey in distribution, especially wholesalers intend to increase their investments.
