Ifo Architects Survey: Renewed increase in planning contracts for residential buildings

According to the results of the Ifo institute's survey of freelance architects. the business climate at the beginning of the third quarter 2010 hardly changed. It is in positive territory, where it has been for almost a year. The estimated construction volume from newly concluded contracts in home building in the second quarter of 2010 was ca. a quarter above the value of the previous quarter. In the preceding two years the architects managed to increase almost continuously their contracts for the planning of residential buildings. The acquired volume of orders in this construction sector surpassed the volumes in the first quarter of 2009 by approximately 85% and that of the first quarter of 2008 by more than 100%.
