Retailing: Further brightening of business climate

After having risen three times in succession, the business climate index in retailing fell in March. More firms than in the previous month assessed their current situation as "poor", and also the six-month business outlook is regarded with more scepticism. Order activity will be cut back despite the somewhat reduced inventory pressure. The survey participants have also had to make price concessions. They continue to plan reductions in staff.
