Manufacturing: clear boost in demand

In manufacturing the business climate is noticeably less unfavourable than in July. The difficult business situation has improved somewhat, according to the company responses. The demand situation has developed positively, and the firms are no longer quite so dissatisfied with their order reserves. They also gave less frequent assessment of excess inventories. Hardly any firms now regard their export chances sceptically. On the whole, they also do not anticipate a worsening of their business situation in the next six months.
