Ifo Business Survey for September 2009

The Ifo Business Climate for German industry and trade brightened again in September. The survey participants evaluated the current business situation less unfavourably than in the previous month. With these results the difficult business situation of the businesses has improved somewhat for the third time in succession. The business outlook for the coming half year was assessed by the survey participants slightly less sceptically than in August. The Ifo Employment Barometer for German industry and trade fell in September. After some easing in the employment situation in the previous month, firms now once again plan to reduce the number of their employees.
