Ifo Business Survey for October 2009

The Ifo Business Climate Index for German industry and trade rose further in October. The surveyed firms were not as dissatisfied with their current business situation as in September. They also again assessed their six-month business outlook somewhat more favourably. The economy in Germany continues to recover from the recession. However, the utilisation of machines and equipment in manufacturing is at a low level in a long-term comparison.
