Has the milk market gone mad?

Prices on the markets for milk and milk products in the EU countries have fluctuated vehemently in the past three years. The price increases of 2007 were followed by eroding prices already in 2008, and in the course of this year producer prices have been at a record low level since the establishment of the EU's Common Agricultural Policy. This article examines the causes for these price fluctuations.
