Restrictive order plans

In retailing the firms assessed their business situation a little more favourably in October, with turnover having been evaluated similarly as in the previous year. In September the retailers had assessed turnover far more negatively. Although fewer assessed inventories as too large, the survey participants still intend to exercise caution in placing new orders. They assessed the six-month business outlook again more sceptically. Fewer retailers plan price increases, although food retailers are planning to raise their prices clearly. In the rest of retailing the tendency towards price increases has come to a halt. Retailing sectors that are expecting to grant strong price discounts include clothing, household goods and electronic products and appliances.
