The Migrant Policy Index (MIPEX) attempts to show how Western societies deal with their immigrants and, by means of 140 indicators, how well the immigrants are integrated into society. The MIPEX is published every two years and shows the development of integration policies in Europe. It contains six policy areas: access to the labour market, family reunification, long-term residence permits, political participation, naturalisation rules and antidiscrimination. The best marks are achieved by Swedish integration policies. Germany is in mid-field of the countries examined
