Credit constraints

Since spring 2003 the Ifo Institute in its monthly business survey of German businesses in trade and industry has surveyed bank lending practices. The special question on lending had been asked twice a year but as of November monthly. The results are released under the name of "credit constraints". According to the November survey, credit constraints clearly grew in Germany in comparison to August, signalling a more reserved credit policy on the part of the banks.
