Outlook cloudier - especially in civil engineering

In construction, the business climate has deteriorated. The firms categorise both their business situation and their six-month outlook more unfavourably. They are more dissatisfied with their order stocks and anticipate a smaller construction volume. In commercial construction, the sector that displays the best business situation of all the building sectors, the order situation has developed more weakly. The range of orders has been reduced perceptibly. Nevertheless, firms in both structural as well as in civil engineering reported better equipment utilisation rates than in the previous month. With that the equipment utilisation rate for construction as a whole has risen and is now slightly above the level achieved 12 months ago.
