Ifo Business Survey in March 2005

The business climate in German industry and trade clouded over again in March. The current business situation was judged even more unfavourably than the previous month for the third month in succession, but also in the business expectations increased scepticism was expressed. As before manufacturing enterprises expressed confidence with regard to their future chances on export markets. In eastern Germany the indicator continued to improve. Here both the judgements of the current situation and also the outlook for the coming months improved.
