Early and late reforms: Long-term trends in public spending in 21 OECD countries

In 21 OECD countries the long-term trends of the development of public spending as a share of GDP were observed. These long-term trends show a turnaround from increasing to decreasing values that occurred in most countries either in the early 1980s or in the period 1993-1995.
