Poor business situation

West German wholesalers evaluated the current situation a little more unfavourably than in February. Demand was weak, but inventory pressure was partially reduced. Pessimism remained regarding the six-month business outlook. The order plans reveal further cuts, which were even stronger in the consumer goods areas. In trade between producers and industrial customers, a further increase in sales prices is expected.
