Order policies less restrictive

The business situation for western German wholesalers was clearly unsatisfactory despite improving trends. Inventories have, nevertheless, been reduced, but the previous-year sales levels were not attained. The order plans indicate further restrictions even though the number of firms that responded this way has decreased again. With regard to future business, pessimism increased somewhat, especially for trade between producers and industrial customers.
