Moderate upswing continues

The slight upward trend of business conditions in western German wholesaling resulted from the less negative assessments in producer-industrial-customer trade, whereas in the consumer goods area they remained at the unfavourable level of the previous month. The excess inventories were only reduced in part. The survey participants assessed the six-month outlook with nearly unchanged pessimism, and their order plans continue to be restrictive.
