Recovery uninterrupted

Western German retail enterprises evaluated their current business situation a little more negatively than in the previous month. In the non-food area a strong improvement in consumer durable goods was offset by equally strong worsening in consumer non-durable goods. In food and beverages the positive and negative judgements balanced out. The outlook for the coming half year was assessed considerably more pessimistically than before. Since inventory pressure had increased perceptibly, the order plans have been reduced even further.
