Ifo Business Survey for December 2003

The business climate in western German trade and industry improved in December for the eighth time in succession. This supports the forecast of the Ifo Institute that a recovery is underway and the economy will expand. The upturn of the indicator was boosted again primarily by enhanced optimism in the business expectation. But also the current situation was judged a little less unfavourably than in November.
