Price pressure expected to weaken

Western German construction firms judged their business situation a little less negatively than in the previous month, but were more pessimistic with regard to future business. This was due largely to the building construction sector, while in civil engineering there was no change. With more construction output, equipment utilisation also increased. At 60% it matched the previous-year level overall, falling somewhat above in civil engineering and a bit below in building construction. The range of order backlogs increased to 2.4 production months, although twelve months ago it stood at 2.7 months.
