West German manufacturing: again more unused capacities

Firms in the manufacturing industry (excluding food and beverages) utilised their production facilities at an 85.% rate in June. The capacity utilisation rate was significantly less intensive than in March (87.1%). Order reserves, which at midyear stood at 3.0 production months, are increasingly appraised as too low. In east Germany capacity utilisation fell from 83.4% in March to 82.4%; order reserves remained stable at 3.5 production months.
