The status of e-commerce in Germany

E-commerce offers considerable savings potential for market participants and opens new fields of activity. Delays in developing this potential can lead to considerable losses in competitiveness. In an international research project with participants from Japan, the U.S., France and the U.K., the Ifo Institute has investigated Germany's position in this development and concluded that only insignificant deficits exist.
