The twice-yearly survey collects sectoral- and industry-specific estimates of investments in the planning and partial-implementation phases. The goal is to supplement the official ex-post data on investment activity in the manufacturing industry in Germany on a sectoral and industry level for the current and coming year.

Primary data collection with extrapolations
Data Sources
Primary quantitative and qualitative data collected by the ifo Institute by surveying firms in the manufacturing industry in Germany; data from the Federal Statistical Office for extrapolating the collected primary data.
Publications
Regular publications in ifo Schnelldienst and reports for the survey participants.
