After 16 years, the era of Angela Merkel comes to an end this fall. The results of Germany’s upcoming parliamentary elections will set the tone for the rest of this decade. In order to overcome the aftereffects of the pandemic and meet the challenges of the future, paradigms need to be broken down. Digitalization, energy supply, and tax, climate, education, and social policy – what are the priorities for Germany’s future? What will the consequences be for society and the economy? Together with experts from business and academia, we discussed the topic of “Economic Policy Challenges in the Post-Merkel Era.”
