Germany as a Science and Innovation Base
The 68th Annual Meeting of the ifo Institute took place on Wednesday 28 June 2017 in the Great Hall of the University of Munich. The ifo Annual Meeting consists of a closed session (General Meeting, Meeting of the Board of Trustees) and a public session with an analysis of the economy by the president of the ifo Institute and guest speakers from business and politics.
The public part of the event, which is jointly organised by the ifo Institute and the Center for Economic Studies (CES) at the University of Munich, looked at Germany as a Science and Innovation Base. The speakers were Georg Schütte, Permanent State Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and Prof. Matthias Kleiner, President of the Leibniz Association. The topic was analysed more closely in a panel discussion with representatives from politics, business and academia.
