Digitalization of Local Passenger Transport – The New Passenger Transport Act

Germany’s new Passenger Transportation Act (PBefG) came into force on August 1, 2021. The new PBefG offers some opportunities. For example, the new mobility services no longer have to operate in a legal grey area; legal certainty has now been created for them. However, the retained obligation to return rental cars should be viewed critically, as this artificially increases the cost of journeys.
